Updating the latest news since the announcements last month about the future of Football Manager Live, Marc Duffy has recently posted a thread on the Subscribers Forum highlighting some additions to that announcement. The main areas mentioned are the extension of free time (until the reset), the keeping of Skill Points and an estimated release for the 1.4 update (with a link to the change list).
As you know, two major announcements regarding the future of the game were recently made in the subscriber forums with part 1 covering some major game play additions and part 2 announcing that that the gameworlds will be reset in order to provide a stable base for these new additions.
Well a lot more has happened since then, so read on for the latest breaking news about Football Manager Live.
We’re pleased to confirm that the initial 2 months free given to subscribers as part of the reset announcement will now be extended until the day of the reset.
You won’t see this replicated on your billing account until the day of the reset is confirmed, but we would like to assure you all that no-one will be paying for Football Manager Live until then.
In the meantime, there is still loads to play for! We’re running all sorts of in-game competitions (see 12 days of Christmas on the blogs for an example!) over the next few months, so make sure to log in and see what all the fuss is about!
There are also loads of competitions planned for our Twitter feed in the New Year, so make sure you’re following us or you’re likely to miss out!
Keeping your skills intact
Following on from the previous announcement that we made about the forthcoming reset we paid very close attention to what was discussed on the forums. In amongst a very large thread, there were some very salient points made, particularly with regards to skills.
At the time we wanted to go with a skills reset as we were planning lots of work in this area further down the line, such as expanding the number of available skills in order to encourage specialisation and adjusting some of the times taken to learn them.
Following on from some of the points made, we have decided to bring some of this work forward to be there in time for the reset.
So we are happy to announce today that you will now retain your skill points, and will be able to use those points in the new skills system. Further information will follow regarding this system before the reset happens.
We’re also pleased to announce that the anticipated Version 1.4 Update has been code-locked and has entered its final testing phase.
New features include the much anticipated Youth Academies, Match Challenges, Reward Points, Revamped Ranking and Reputation systems and much more!
We will confirm the exact date and times of when the update will happen in the New Year but in the meantime feel free to check out the full changelist in the manual.
