For those that listened to the latest episode of our Football Manager Live podcast, we announced that we will have a special guest on next week’s show. Joining us will be none other than the man who created the game we know and love – Ov Collyer, co-founder of Sports Interactive!

Ov will discuss the recent FML v1.3 update from a developer’s point of view. From the initial inception of the new features, reasons behind some of the economic and progression changes and the use of vital community feedback taken from the beta worlds. If you heard his last appearance on the show, whether talking about the general state of the game’s development or the behind-the-scenes look at the tactics creator, it’s definitely an insight that an FM Live manager will not get elsewhere!

As always, we want to hear from you! We’re opening up the floor to any questions you might have for Ov. Whether it’s specifically about v1.3, the future road map of Football Manager Live or the type of cake he prefers after dinner, the  stage is there for the community to get their questions answered straight from the mouth of the developer.

We’ll look to include as many of your questions as possible on the podcast, so get to work and post them as a comment below!

    Hi Ov,

Are they any plans for cross gameworld challenges ie so the winners of the uffa comps could have a champions league, so we truly know that fowler is the best

  • I would ask him your killer question Jordan!

For there to be progression there has to be regression, so either:-

    1) The game has to allow for regression and is an easy trap to fall into
    2) There is limited progression
    3) Managers have to leave from the top

What, if any, are your proposals to make the game into an MMO rather than it essentially following a Fantasy Football model. At the moment it's a case of log in, sit there for 6 hours, play a couple of games and do nothing else. CPU teams don't really help this at all due to the lack of structure (and them nearly all playing 442 is especially annoying - more so with no way to sort them by formation... oh i'm rambling on about something else now..)

Do you ever envisage a scenario where there will be something to do, something meaningful and interesting, 24/7 in the game. Will we ever stop being punished for activity and rewarded for activity ? (re - Injuries, taxes etc)

Greetings When are we going to get keyboard shortcuts in game like the bigger brother.

First off id like to just say thanks to you and Paul on bringing the Football Manager Franchise to me, as for my question now that 1.3 has landed with the all new fm2010 ME, is it fair to say that the FM2010 devs will now be working on the ME as an ongoing project for FML, so lets say next year the FM2011 will use the FML ME? That way the match engine in FM2011 will be 110% tested and that can benefit both games?

Any chance of some corp hospitality at afc wimbledon vs kidderminster harriers next year?

Hi Guys, girls and Jordan ;)

I have a question relating something that was talked about prior to launch but never seemed to make the light of day and I still believe is a missed opportunity in the game. Back around the time when everyone was eagerly awaiting for fml to launch there was alot of talk of sharing of skills and people specialising in areas and teaming with others. There was even the scouting fee option in that gameworld that was not enabled yet.

The idea was I could Ron Scout for use of his superior scouting skills or send my player off to Johnny healing hands as a medic specialist and I would pay him a fee he would get my star player back fit again quicker. I could pay the Billy bulldozer to build my stadium for me for an agreed fee. I'm sure your getting the idea is this still very much part of the plans for the game?

I think it would help some people specialise a bit more as currently its far too easy to be a jack of trades and master of many all rolled into one. If they can build ties and have a reason to concentrate on one area without having to feel as if they are falling behind in another area.

One last thing good work with the podcast and keep up the work on fml to Ov.

  • How will one nation youth managers fair with the new youth academies ...being an all argie team I really only want argie kids

  • luislopes

    When is MultiSelect coming?

When is the iPhone app coming?

When are National and FA teams coming and their respective competitions?

Will SI implement BitTorrent technology into the launcher to avoid update disasters?

  • Rik

I would love to know if FML is a sideproject for Ov to fulfil his ambition of being the sole owner of Everton FC. http://en.wikinews.org/wiki... ;)
