Second, there is no "the" answer to tactics, in real life or Football Manager. So, nobody can tell you the best formation for every team on the game, or indeed <em>any</em> team on the game. Third, there's more to a tactic than a formation - a flat 4-4-2 with certain instructions will play very, very differently to the same formation with different instructions. So, the formation is virtually useless to you - you need to know how to set it up to play well too.
